One Big Happy Family... Most Of The Time

Brother,
...Dan Iroz, 18Oct04

Family is glorious,
Even if you think not.
At the end of the day
It’s all that we’ve got.

So define and expand it
As big as you may,
But start with yourself;
What you owe may you pay.

Judge not the members,
No not even one;
No matter their flaws,
No matter their sum.

But love them as much as
You can love them today,
Err tomorrow’s too late
And remorse has it’s way.

My family I love you.
I wish I loved more.
To know you much better
Than ever before

Is my prayer while I keep
To my hearth and my wife,
And work on improving
Myself all my life.

To my boss at his company sponsored surprise birthday party

Eric The Great
...Dan Iroz, 11Feb05, vA1

You’ve heard of Eric the Great…
Or was that Alexander?
And Eric the Red…
Of him it’s said… well…
See “Saga of Greenlander”

For those of you
With contemporary hues,
Perhaps you’ve heard of Clapton.
With slow hand guitar
Blues from the heart,
A master at his profession.

But amongst us here
Is one more dear
Than the Red was to Viking maidens.
And in his field
He does not yield
To those who would defeat him.

And like the Persian foe of Great’s
Who did sorely underestimate
That young Greek god,
Who then o’er them trod
Like so much rice at weddings,

Our enemy here
Was likewise sheared…
Blustering as it bellowed.

So to our hero Eric Gurr
We give our thanks and say…

If you could sing and play guitar
Like you can move and shake,
You’d find Clapton waking Elvis
Eating sour grapes!

History's Debt

History’s Debt
… Dan Iroz, 7Feb05, vA0

Perspective and pride
What an interesting pair
When the first one is flawed
The second will flare

And both will impose
Into history’s maze
Biased contention
Of a foggy brown haze

So hold fast to your insight
From He who provides it.
In humble opinion
Keep your dialogue fit.

That history might be
Nothing more and no less
What happened and why,
Not one thing to confess!
